Study Permit

To study in Canada for more than six months, you must obtain a Study Permit. The number of people coming to Canada with the goal of graduating from a college or university, finding employment, and pursuing permanent residency is rapidly increasing. Graduates of public colleges or universities recognized by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada are eligible for an Open Work Permit (a permit with no restrictions on employers or occupations) for up to three years. If one parent is enrolled in the program, their minor children can receive free education.

Work Permit

A work permit is a temporary work permit granted to foreign nationals when necessary skilled workers are unavailable in Canada. Foreign nationals require a work permit to legally work and reside in Canada. Work permits are categorized into Open Work Permits, which are not restricted by employer or occupation; Closed Work Permits, which are restricted by employer and occupation; Intra-Company Transfers, which are required for work at Canadian branches; Clergy Visas for missionary work; and Working Holiday Visas, which allow foreign nationals to experience, travel, and work in Canada.

Visitor Visa

Korea and Canada have a visa-free travel agreement. Visiting relatives typically allows you to stay for up to six months without a visa. However, if you wish to stay longer, you must apply for and receive permission to extend your visitor visa before it expires to legally remain in Canada.

ETA

An eTA is a pre-entry authorization system that allows citizens of visa-exempt countries to travel to Canada by air. If you plan to visit Canada for tourism, visiting relatives, or other purposes, you must obtain an eTA in advance.
